Volunteer Assistants Needed

Under the direction of the Stroke Branch Coordinator, Stroke Branch Volunteer Assistants are needed to enhance stroke branch activities and services.  Assist with activities such as: 

                              Refreshments – serving & clean up

                              Exercise programs

                              Bocce

                              Outings

                              Mobility – pushing wheelchairs, offering arm when walking

                              Arts and crafts

                              Social events

The time commitment is Fridays, generally from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm at Dogwood Pavilion.  The location may vary for outings.

 

Desirable Volunteer Qualifications

                           Supportive, encourages stroke club members' independence

                           Facilitates involvement and socialization

                           Patient and friendly

                           Leadership skills for different activities

                           Physically able to push a wheelchair or assist with walking

You will be contacted to arrange a meeting to discuss your interests, time availability, background experiences and options.  There are dozens of different volunteer options available.
